Dr. A. David Soleymani was born in Cheverly, Maryland but grew up as a Hoosier in Valparaiso, Indiana. After graduating from Valparaiso High School, he received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in Bloomington. He then completed his medical education at Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by residency training at The Ohio State University Medical Center. During his dermatology residency, he trained in medical, surgical, Mohs surgery, and dermatology.
After becoming board certified in Dermatology, Dr. Soleymani practiced and was Assistant Clinical Professor in Dermatology at Northwestern University in downtown Chicago for 10 years. As a fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, he has a strong passion for treating skin cancer. In 2020, Dr. Soleymani was elected to the Board of Directors for the prestigious American Society of Mohs Surgery (ASMS), which is a three-year term. His interests include medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. In order to stay on the cutting edge of dermatology, Dr. Soleymani regularly attends advanced training sessions in new and emerging techniques in dermatology and communicates daily with dermatology colleagues around the world.
Dr. Soleymani is pleased to announce that he is officially back to his roots as a Hoosier, recently appointed as a Volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Soleymani is a music and sport enthusiast and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys playing tennis, watching basketball and hockey (particularly the Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks, and the Indiana Hoosiers!), and plays bass guitar.
In his spare time, Dr. Soleymani developed an app called dermio which seeks to provide dermatologic care to economically and geographically underserved patient populations.
Dr. Soleymani believes in helping patients improve their skin and helps them discern real treatments that work vs. unproven fads and hype.
